The goodness keeps coming!

I am definitely a pizza lover! I can't believe I've never tried Papa John's pizza. I think I'm spoiled because we have a local Pizza place that serves New York style pizza and it's the best around. Enough about pizza though! This arrived in the mail yesterday and when I opened it up, alas there was no pizza, but wait......

It was better than pizza! It was filled with handmade birthday cards and lots of beautiful scrapbooking papers and the most delightful images from Brenda at bcraftytoday.
She has a lovely blog with so many goodies there! She's a busy lady. I am going to use some of my papers today on a collage and I can't wait! Instant inspiration-Thank you so much Brenda!

But Wait! I'm not finished yet!
I adored this collage that Melba from melbamcmullin.com
was offering as one of her giveaways during OWOH and I won it! It's lively and colorful and inspirational with 'Be A Spark' on it and I love the meaning of it. It's a reminder to me and I've placed it where I can see it everyday! I also received a pretty, dainty wire heart with beads that looks lovely on my dresser and two postcards just loaded with goodness! Melba is an incredible journaler and her collages are incredible! Thank you Melba!

The Birds are Singing

Can you hear them? They sing such beautiful songs. I love their conversations. I'm certain they're excited about Spring!

I finally put the final finishes on this painting and varnished it. Happy bird listening!

When You Thought I Wasn't Looking...

This is one of my favorite poems and I was thinking about it today and how if I could write my mom a letter it would sound very similar to the words written here. She died when I was seven years old. We only had a short time together but she instilled in me the love of so many things! One of them being....dolls :] and she was a wonderful seamstress. She would let me pick out the material(can you imagine?) and she would make matching outfits for her and I. She loved Christmastime, as I do, and she would put all blue lights on our Christmas tree complete with tinsel and angel hair! She loved so many things, but the greatest being the fierce love she had for myself and my brothers. She made me feel completely loved and whole and safe. (I have only a few pics so I stuck my baby picture on hers)
So, thank you mom. I love you and Miss you!

"When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I felt you kiss me good night and I felt loved and safe.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but its all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say,

Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking"

I Am Blessed

I am very blessed, and feeling a bit spoiled I might add! Check out my treasures from Trudy at Bitsofwool.
I was the lucky winner during OWOH. A gal after my heart-five of them to be exact! So prim and perfect with rusty bells and star and floral material. Everything fits perfectly in my home.
This is my blessed stitchery which I have on the mantle right now so I can see it everyday. This is doubly special to me as I am an angel keeper and I have many angels, but none like this. AND I can sip a steaming cup of orange & spice tea while I admire it. I love it! Thank you Trudy!

All The Way From England....!

Yay! Lucky Me! I was the winner of this beautiful pendant necklace from Jan at Beadyjan's
during OWOH. She makes some amazing jewelry, among other things! Sorry about my pics. My lighting never seems to be quite right. The pendant is in earth tones and it just shimmers with gold! The spiral rope is hand beaded. This piece is out of this world and I will so enjoy wearing it! Thank you Jan :]

This is the lovely hand made card that my necklace came in. Such a treat to open!

Madame Butterfly Mixed Media Doll

I have had an absolute blast creating this dollie! She is the first completed doll from JoAnna's doll workshop at Moss Hill Studio. Fun, fun fun! and I embellished her with lots of goodies...vintage lace, painted rusty hearts and painted flowers...Part of the fun is looking for the goodies to adorn her with. I went to some local antique shops for some great finds.
And I knew once she had the sparkley butterfly on her head she was done!

I got Some Special Bling today!

I received a special package in the mail today! This is what I found inside. Everything was a work of art right down to the envelope which was a piece of ledger paper that had been stitched and covered in lace and pink yarn and a rose on top! And look at those birdies! Inside that special envelope was...
This! Ahhh, isn't it lovely? I know my pictures don't even come close to showing it's beauty, but I know a place where you can go and see similar ones and lots of other lovelies too! I've met so many wonderful people during OWOH and one of those people is Kecia from Lemoncholy's Studio. Her creations are stunning, vintagey, and wildly romantic! We decided to do an exchange- A doll for a necklace. So I made....
A cloth dollie. I called her Ke (just briefly) but really was waiting for her new owner to give her a name.
My son really wanted to try it on, but I was kinda reluctant to take it off. I did relent once for him to try it on and then to take a couple of pics. I love it-I do. Thank you Kecia!
