Where would you go?

If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be? When I was little I used to pretend I had a magic carpet and I would sneak out of the window on warm summer nights and go on the most fantastic journeys. I always wanted to sail with Wynken, Blynken and Nod in a wooden shoe on a 'river of crystal light' or visit Alice in Wonderland and play a game of croquet. Maybe visit Oz and meet Dorothy, Toto and friends. I still love to visit those places! And I have a new one to add to the list....

If only I had wings..
It would be the Sistine Chapel. I can just imagine! But since I'm unconvinced that flying is an irrational fear(I've flown many times) and I don't have wings, and have no idea where I put that magic carpet, I'll just be content to look at pictures! Where would you go?

When I was little, I wanted to find the end of the rainbow. I actually did attempt it. I must have only been around four or five. My poor mother found me with a group of little girls that were treating me like a baby doll miles away from home.

I think even after all this time, I would still like to find that end of the rainbow. Not for the pot of gold or the lucky leprechaun, but just to feel the light bouncing off the earth towards the sky.

A tropical island but if you're going to Italy, you have to take me (and Phil) ☺

I definitely want to see France, Italy- both for the architecture and museums, and food! I'd love to visit the US too, especially Georgia and California, and of course another trip to Greece would be lovely...ah, how nice to dream :-)

Love the painting, Kim. The background looks to me like a a reflection in a window, so airy and full of endless possibilities! I suppose I would have to agree with you and the other "Becky".... Definitely the Sistine Chapel, Greece and of course, Ireland! Becky

Hi, Kimmie! When I was little we used to drive by this place in Colorado called the Crystal River. Your story reminded me of it! :-)

Italy, Rome, the Sistine Chapel sounds great! Other places I'd like to go include: Vancouver, BC, Canada; Molokai, Hawaii; Ireland; Belize; Bali; New Zealand; Australia; Mediterranean Cruise; Egypt ruins; Great Smoky Mountains, TN/NC; Shenandoah Mountains, VA; Gunnison area in Colorado; Machu Piccu, Peru; Mayan ruins. Just about anyplace! :-)

I really want to go to India. Just the colors of the textiles and buildings that I see in pictures makes it intriguing...although at this rate, maybe an enchanted forest would be nice! :)

My sisters & I had that book "Wynken, Blynken & Nod" when we were little! Thanks for the memory. Let's see...where do I want to go? Ireland!

Places I'd love to go in a blink:
Florence
Venice
Rothenberg
Camelot
London
Etc.

Well, there are more, but I've been to all of them except Camelot, but would love to return. I told my kids that when I pass, don't expect me to hang around and haunt them...I'll be too busy riding on the back of a giraffe, having a luscious meal in Venice, returning to the Louvre but at night...just having fun!!

Just a beautiful painting! Maybe a romantic villa somewhere overseas with a balcony that overlooks the ocean and all the fresh oyster/mussles and cold ale a girl could drink! (Heehee, I think Hemingway is trying to influence me) ; )

Wow Kimmie, you are making me think!!! I'm thinking Tuscany...I'd love to go to one of the cooking schools. Egypt would be cool too as I would love to go to Abu Simbel. Australia and New Zealand are on my husband's list and I love to travel with him...oh heck, going to the neighbors would be nice too!!!

I'd say I'd want to travel to the outskirts of Bath, England...about 200 years ago! When I visited in 2000 I was smitten with the place. :)
Love your angels! So peaceful and lovely!
