Diet Tips and Advice Please

What Do You Want? funny picture

Ugggghhhh! I hate dieting but I need to shed some Winter pounds. I need help! I've done Atkins before very successfully but I tend lose heart now at about day 4 every time I give it a new attempt. I understand why it works....at least for me...every time I see a piece of meat, cheese or eggs after a period of time I want to hurl. I know I need to exercise more and plan on getting into a walking routine, but what about diet wise? Any suggestions? Tips? Advice? Something easy and pain free? :-)

I know nothing about diets but as far as exercise (which you didn't ask for haha) the 30 Day Shred is AMAZING! I hear they also have a cookbook! I've heard really good things about this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1416597980/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1416597999&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1QZKWQ8JWP27KQB2VK72

I definitely need to get back in to an exercise routine. I used to do Pilates regularly but I broke my tape :-) Do you do the 30 Day Shred Sarah? Do you know if there's anywhere to buy it other than online?
I was just reading the reviews and they're all good!

I'm not sure how much advice I can give, or if this applies to you, but dropping sugar and wheat will cause a drop in your weight. Or at least cutting down on sugar. I had no idea how prevalent it is in everything! I keep meaning to do a blog post about this.

Adding a walk to your day if you don't already do so would also make a difference in your body.
The Atkins, or any strict diet is good only for quick weight loss but it is NOT healthy.

I always gain a few pounds of winter weight too, so I am laying off sugar, and doing some weight lifting to increase my metabolism.
good luck with this!
I'm cheering you on :-)

Hi Crissi! How are you? There is so much info out there...it's all like sensory overload :-)

Hi Betty! Yeah it's those few winter pounds that I need to shed too. When you cut sugar and wheat what do you mean exactly? Like what kinds of foods do you eat and what do you cut back on? For instance, I know fruit has a lot of carbs, bread, etc. Do you cut back on those too?
I used to love lifting weights too! I've just been lazy this winter. I'm going to see if I can find the 30 Day Shred this afternoon :)

Hi, Kimmie! I've been trying a 400-400-800 calorie plan. I have a 400 calorie breakfast, a 400 calorie lunch, and the 600 to 800 calories at dinner. Usually a 600 calorie meal and 200 calories of "dessert" of some kind. I like it because I can eat anything I want if I just control the portion.

I am using a computer program called The Living Cookbook to track the calories. It lets you put in ingredients or items you have, and then total them up. You can even create recipes. It has helped me lose a slow 1 to 2 pounds a week.

Good luck! :-)

When you are on a diet do not skip meals. You can take your regular meals but you should only eat small meals high in fiber and avoid meat and other fatty foods. And of course regular exercise.
