Working on a New Cloth & Clay Doll

I'm trying my hand at a much bigger cloth and clay doll than I'm used to. I'm inspired by Izannah Walker style dolls and that is what I have in mind for this dollie, but we'll see once I start painting her. My daughter says it looks like a little old man, so who knows! For now, she/he dries.

Thanks! I googled pics of izannah dolls and found one on a stamp that I liked. I used paper clay on her and I'm not sure how her features will look when she's painted. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Kinda flying by the seat of my pants :] She'll be good practice!

Yep flying by the seat of your pants!!! That the fun of it, I think, because every Izzy is different. She will be beautiful!!!!

Yes, Kimmie, Jackie is right. Study the pictures of Izzys. Sculpt with your eyes first and your fingers will follow! Keep up the great work, Becky

Hi Kimmie - thanks for stopping by my blog. I hadta giggle at your daughter's observation: My family comes up with the funniest things too! The dollies do resemble other things before they arrive at their own personality, hmm?!
Happy Holidays!

Thanks everyone. I need all the tips I can get! I've started painting her and I must say she looks nothing like an Izzy girl! So, needless to say I think she will look totally different when I'm finished with her....if I can stay away from the paint :]
