Well, I wanted to make this clay dollie in to an Izzy doll, but she decided to be the Queen Of Hearts instead! Once I started painting her she took on a life of her own. So now the Queen sits with her crow and awaits the return of her tarts!
I'm trying my hand at a much bigger cloth and clay doll than I'm used to. I'm inspired by Izannah Walker style dolls and that is what I have in mind for this dollie, but we'll see once I start painting her. My daughter says it looks like a little old man, so who knows! For now, she/he dries.
This little guy was a lot of fun to make and I can't wait to make more! I painted him again and added his face and 'Glisten' across his belly. I used a Walnut stain to age him and then added Mica flakes, embossing powder and glitter. His scarf is made of tinsel. Easy and lots of fun to make. The longest part of course, is letting everything dry before you do the next layer.
This little snowman is getting there. Hopefully when I'm finished with him he will look like one of great grandma's Christmas ornaments! I took a Christmas glass ball and covered it with paperclay and just added the top to the top of his head. I applied the first coats of paint and applied a crackle medium. When that dries I'll paint him again and add a face and some accessories! I'll post his progress!
So sorry, I'm just posting the winner of the Walk in the Woods giveaway today. My family was under the weather this weekend with a nasty little bug. We're feeling much better now. Stacy, please contact me and send me your address and I will send the painting right out to you. Thanks to everyone for participating! I will be having more giveaways in the future.
This is my latest cloth and clay dollie. I decided to do a snow 'girl' instead of chiseling out the facial features and just painted her face on. I added some crackle medium and donned her with some hot pink mod floral clothing. Her bling accessory is a sparkley snowflake brooch. She's available on Ebay starting at $.99

It's been a lot of fun doing Gritty Jane's Cloth and Clay workshop. I finished two dollies and learned a lot. Can't wait to try some designs of my own.
I am so excited because I'm taking an on line class by Suzi Blu! I've been doing lots of practicing and I did this painting for a friend who has two girls. I used lots of goodies on it!
I'm a proud mom of a couple of kids. My favorite time of the year is Fall. I live in blue jeans and boots. I love my family and friends. I love music and reading books and learning new things. I like giggling until I cry!...and baking cakes and chocolate chip cookies and snow...
I love to color and paint and sew and create!
